Children's Birthday Party

I am participating in Kelly's Show us where you live series for the first time and I am not even showing you my house but my kid's birthday parties!
We just celebrated my daughter, Bella's 5th birthday last week! We had a Dora Beach party. It was so much fun! I went to the dollar store in search of some cheap decorations and was blown away to see all the Dora beach things they had!! It was PERFECT! I don't know if I got any pictures of those things but I was able to find dora frisbees, beach balls, buckets and shovels and sand molds!
My daughter also has allergies to gluten/wheat so I had to make her cake which actually turned out so fun and yummy! I used all her little Dora figurines and made a beach theme cake! She was so happy which is all that matters, right?
For party favors we gave each child a bucket and shovel, also from the dollar store, for them to play with at the party and then take home!

I am also going to show pictures of my son's 2nd birthday. We had a construction birthday party. It was so fun! I made him a construction site cake which was so fun to make and he had so much fun playing with it!!
We had the party in our backyard. For the invitation I just did an evite but I had a picture of Charlie on a steamroller so I put that on the evite and it turned out pretty cute. I set up a few stations for the kids to play with. I put all the trucks I could find in the dirt area by the tree for the kids to drive around. Then we had a building station where I put out all the block we had in our house with lots of plastic tools for the kids to construct.
The last station was a bean bag toss. I made a dump truck out of poster board and the kids threw bean bags into the back.
For favors I was able to find packs of small construction trucks and plastic tools at Target for pretty cheap. So each child got a truck and a tool and left pretty happy!!!
I seem to not have any pictures of the play stations but I think you get the idea!
We also made shirts on the computer that said "Charlie Construction Company" for our family and the grandparents which really added to the party!

Hi Becca,
Came by your blog to see what you've been up to.
Your kiddies are adorable.
Have you seen the cookbook- Babycakes? It's mostly gluten-free dessert recipes. I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies. :)
