Family Science Night at TLCS

We went to the first family science night at Bella's school. They split it up into K-2 and 3-6 and each group was split into smaller teams and then did 3-4 science centers. It was so much fun! Bill helped out with one of the centers too. The kids learned what happens when you put baking soda in vinegar, they tried to make objects move by blowing through a straw, they made boats out of foil and tried to get them to float and learned which foods are good/bad for their teeth.
It was so fun to see all the kids so excited about science!

Toddler Sports Academy

We signed Charlie up for Toddler sports Academy. It is a six week program where the kids are taught t-ball, soccer and basketball. It was so much fun to see him try all the different sports. Soccer was our favorite. Charlie is a natural and did really well learning how to dribble and shoot the ball. Basketball was fun too although Charlie was afraid of being hit in the head with the ball so dribbling was good but making baskets was scary to him. We only did one session because at the end I asked him if he wanted to do more and he said no...hmmmm....we have time, I guess.

Johnson Family Farm Field Trip

Bella had her first Kindergarten field trip and I was able to go too! We went to Johnson Family Farm for pumpkins and a hay ride! Bella is so blessed to be in such a wonderful Kindergarten class with two special teachers! We had so much fun!! We rode there with Emma, Emma's dad, Jason and Jack. When we got there we first had a picnic lunch and then met up with Farmer Johnson who talked to us about the farm and some things we would see there. Then off to the animals. The kids got to feed chickens and pet goats and run through a corn field.
We then went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch and got to pick our own pumpkins. It was hot that day so didn't feel very fallish but had fun fun fun anyway!

Charlie's Family Birthday at the aquarium

We have started this new tradition where we have a birthday party and then on the actual birthday we do something fun just with the family. Charlie's was the Monterey Bay Aquarium!! We had the best time!
The day started with Charlie waking up to a decorated house, presents and birthday breakfast then off to the aquarium!
Charlie LOVES the aquarium especially the hammerhead sharks and manta rays.
We finished the day off with lunch at the Monterey Plaza hotel...thanks Lars!
Happy birthday to my handsome, sweet, funny, loving, snuggly, bright little boy!

Wheeee Charlie is three!

Charlie LOVES cars, especially Cars the movie so naturally we had a Cars themed birthday party for him.
We had it at a park with a few close friends and it was perfect!
Bill and my gift to Charlie were many of the cars from the movie displayed on his birthday cake! He was so surprised and happy!!
We tried a pinata which is something to see with a bunch of 3-5 year old and ended with good ole face in the cake fun! All in all a memorable day!
